i had forgotten until recently that this LJ account of mine is still open. although i don't intend to delete it, i don't intend to update it again really. i suppose i'll delete it eventually, but it feels like i'm in a totally different place in my life and don't feel like sharing every detail of my life with folks....although i'm sure folks have noticed it's been that way for a while.

although i dont update it much more than i update this baby, i can be found mostly on stoney_l, where i mostly just post fun/cool/weird shit i find here and there. i've also abandoned my friendster and myspace accounts...but i do update my facebook profile now and then.

since my last post...i had a radical hysto last summer (due in part to a combo of high cancer risk and my transition), my parents have separated and will probably divorce eventually, and my landlord sold the building tom and i are living in...so tom is moving to Ohio, and I've moved to the inner sunset in SF. generally, 2008 was a shitty year for me, so i'm glad it's over and I'm trying to start fresh.

holy crap, on monday stephen fry came to my work and interviewed myself (on the left), Tom (on the right), my co-worker John (not pictured), and my boss Hans, about the effects of AIDs in the gay community past and present. i wasn't aware that THE stephen fry was going to be interviewing us until he walked in the door.... i had just been told "someone from the BBC" was filming and they needed people to talk to them.

i made an ass of myself, i was pretty flabbergasted the entire time.

all i wanted for x-mas were some sideburns. santa delivered, woot.

quick update:
-graduated from SFSU with a BA in Studio Art. Bye-bye school.
-Still working at EROS; now doing the bulk of their illustration work. Also, for Trannywood Pictures.
-Found out I have high-risk cervical dysplasia (pre-cancerous cells), super lame. But, apparently my treatment is going well.
-Had alot of my better artwork in an Employee show at Eros; I sold everything that had a price on it. I'll probably have a solo show in the future.

For those I haven't spoke to yet, my brother is doing better. He has alot to deal with, but he has support. Myself included.

Beyond that, Butch and I have a tradition forming of the annual birthday lunch at todai. Todai is a Japanese seafood and sushi all-you-can eat buffet, and it's friggin suh-weet. They will give you a free meal on your b-day if you have an ID and one other person with you...it's the only time we ever go because it's pricey.

in case anyone is wondering...probably not, but anyway! i'm currently working on a series of illustrations of transmen at different stages of transition, has a light focus on bodyart, they're all in the style of the piece i posted last week (in pen/ink). i intend to make small (legal size) prints that can be ...easily and cheaply sold/shown/etc, i'd kinda like to make enough to fill a small book. i'm also still scheming about screen-printing t-shirts and "distributing" locally. If people have opinions about these projects...i'd kinda like to hear them.

if i come across more work that i think is worth selling this summer, i'll post it- keep an eye out.
